A parallelograms is a quadrilateral with two pairs
of
opposite sides that are parallel
To find the area of a parallelogram, multiply the
base by the height. The formula is:
A = B * H where B is the base, H is the height, and * means multiply.
Example : Find the area of a parallelogram with a base of 7 inches and a height of 10 inches.
Solution:
A = B * H
A = (7 in) · (10 in)
A = 70 in2
perimeter = 2(w+h)
where:
w is the base length of the parallelogram
h is the side length
Example:
Find the perimeter of the parallelogram ABCD
perimeter = 2 (w + h)
= 2 (4+5)
= 2 (9)
= 18 cm
